Obituary for Bernice Lynetta Frazier (Lawson)

Bernice was born on April 17, 1925 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Fonnie Ray Lawson, Sr. and Minnie Snow Lawson.

Bernice was educated within the Atlanta Public School System and was a graduate of Washington High School. She was baptized at an early age at the Beulah Baptist Church in the Edgewood Community.

Bernice was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late William “Pee Pee” Frazier, Sr. From that union, two children were born.

She worked many years at Fort McPherson in Atlanta, Georgia and later moved to San Francisco, California. There, she worked for the City and County of San Francisco for over thirty years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five sisters, and four brothers.

Bernice was a very independent, caring, and giving woman. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children, William, Jr. (Patsy), and Lynetta (Ike- dec.); eight grandchildren, William “Tiger”, Sytira, Kirk, TeWanna, Lakesha, Kourvoisier, Omar, and Mario; Fourteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, sister, Irma Byrd; brothers, Melvin Lawson (Helen), Floyd Lawson Sr. (Jeanne), and Donald Lawson; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends who supported her until the end.

Mrs. Bernice Frazier entered into eternal rest on Sunday, July 23rd, 2017.

Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, July 29th, 2017, 11:00 am, at Herschel Thornton Mortuary 3346 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SW Atlanta, Georgia 30331. Interment South-View Cemetery.

Public Viewing will be Friday, July 28th, 2017 10:00 am until 7:00 pm at Herschel Thornton Mortuary 3346 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SW Atlanta, Georgia 30331.
