David Arthur Tolson was born on March 19, 1972 to Reverend William Tolson III and Theatris Fuggs-Colbert, who both preceded him in death. He received his education through the Detroit Public School System. He married Kenna Ponder on July 15, 1995, and to this union four children were born. His brother, Anthony Lamont Tolson, also preceded him in death.

David dedicated his life to Christ at an early age, and he was highly invested in spreading God’s word like his father and his brother Anthony. Besides being the family comedian, David loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing. He was extremely gifted with his hands, and could draw and play piano by ear. David worked in the construction business for most of his adult life. He was a talented masonry and found pleasure in home-improvement projects.

On November 6, 2011, David married Kimberly Benefield. Together they shared eight children and six grandchildren in love. David and Kim loved each other dearly and enjoyed spending time together.

David made his transition on Saturday, April 21st surrounded by his family. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Kim; four children, Stacie, Danielle, Karmen, and Terrell; step-grandson Isaiah Waters; sisters, Marguerite Tolson-Armstrong, and Michelle Tolson; brother, Douglas Tolson; his loving stepmother, Allison Tolson; nieces, Alicia, and Amber; nephews, Jerome, Bryan, Aaron, and William; two great-nephews, Jalil, and Kendrick; great-niece, Mey’onna; four aunts, four uncles, numerous cousins, and a host of great-aunts, great-uncles, extended family and friends.

Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, April 28th, 2018, 2:00 pm, at Herschel Thornton Mortuary 3346 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SW Atlanta, Georgia 30331.

Public Viewing will be Friday, April 27th, 2018 10:00 am until 8:00 pm at Herschel Thornton Mortuary 3346 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SW Atlanta, Georgia 30331.
