Obituary for Lee Nelson Tucker

Lee Nelson Tucker
Lee Nelson Tucker, a young, spirited boy, was born on July 23, 1942 in Sparta, Georgia to Reverend Darrell Tucker and Fannie Evelyn Taylor Tucker. He was the youngest of six children.

Nelson had a wonderful personality, and made friends with nearly everyone he met. He was known in the community as “Big Pally.” He was full of laughter and was a beast on the grill. Nelson loved to talk junk at the bid whist table, too. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching basketball, western movies, fishing at Jackson Lake, and driving fast cars (preferably his Maverick called “Road Runner”).

Nelson recently rededicated his life to Christ, as his Lord and Savior. He entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 4, 2017.

Nelson leaves to cherish his loving memories, his wife, Brenda L. Tucker; two sisters, Louise Clayton, and Fronnie Jennings; one brother, Raymond Tucker; two daughters, Shelia Longino, and Shalonda Freeman; two sons, Keith Lumpford, and Darren Tucker; sixteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, and an endless number of friends and loved ones.

Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, March 11th, 2017, 11:00 am, at Evergreen Baptist Church 303 4th Avenue Decatur, Georgia 30030. Interment .

Public Viewing will be Friday, March 10th, 2017 10:00 am until 6:00 pm.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Friday, March 10th, 2017 from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm at Herschel Thornton Mortuary 3346 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SW Atlanta, Georgia 30331.
